PMAO/UVM Partnership Enters its Fourth Year

Another successful PMA-UVM Collaboration project culminated on January 10 at the Mount of Prayer, Coubarille, Castries at a Ceremony hosted by the Department of Consumer Affairs.

Students and faculty members from the University of Vermont (UVM) were on island from January 3rd to continue their university's research collaboration with Saint Lucian counterparts. This year's project with the PMA Office of the Department of Sustainable Development expanded on last year’s assignment. With support from staff at the PMA Office, the UVM Survey Team conducted surveys to support the implementation of strategies for addressing Public Education and Awareness of the PMA; and also made presentations to students at the Choiseul and Soufriere Secondary Schools.

The UVM Team also included media students whose specific assignment was to conduct interviews. These interviews will be used to develop podcasts on the PMA. On behalf of the Department of Sustainable Development and the PMA Office sincere thanks to the faculty and students of UVM for their continued commitment and support to Saint Lucia's sustainable development.
